The Gates Millennium Scholars Program (GMS) was initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Administered by the United Negro College Fund and partners, GMS is aimed at expanding access and opportunity to higher education to those outstanding minority students with significant financial need who will help reflect the diverse society in which we live.
OCAWÂ members serve as nominators and recommenders for this renewable scholarship. The online application process begins August 1 of each year.
